Access Health CT’s goal is to connect you to the best health and/or dental insurance plan for you. We do that each year starting November 1 during Open Enrollment (OE). But did you know that some people may qualify for enrollment outside of OE? If you recently experienced a change in your life, you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). A Special Enrollment Period is a window of time outside of the Open Enrollment Period when you can enroll in health and/or dental insurance through Access Health CT.

Life happens and circumstances can change almost overnight. At Access Health CT, we want to make sure you know that you may still have time to enroll in the right health and/or dental insurance plan for you. Losing your health and/or dental coverage, getting married, having a baby or moving to Connecticut are some examples of Qualifying Life Events (QLEs). If you have a Qualifying Life Event, your Special Enrollment Period will generally last 60 days from the date of the Event.

If you qualify for the Covered CT Program, HUSKY Health (Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)), or if you are an American Indian or Alaska Native, you can enroll in coverage any time of the year.

Here’s what you can do:
