Are you missing out on saving money for your prescriptions? ArrayRx is a digital discount card that can be used at most pharmacies to lower the cost of some medications. This program was launched in Connecticut in 2023 by Governor Ned Lamont and Comptroller Sean Scanlon to help Connecticut residents reduce their healthcare costs.
“It’s no question that prescription drug prices are out of control,” said Comptroller Scanlon in a press release. “This card isn’t the be-all-end-all solution to the problem, but while we await the benefits of federal legislation—such as Medicare negotiating [drug] prices—the ArrayRx card is providing residents with some much needed relief today.”
Can I Use the ArrayRx Card If I Have Health Coverage?
Yes! Even if you are already enrolled in health coverage — including in a Qualified Health Plan (QHP) or HUSKY Health — this program can make your prescription medication more affordable. According to ArrayRx’s website, you can save, on average, up to 80% on generic drugs and 18% on brand-name drugs when you use your ArrayRx card. The best part? It’s completely free to get the card, and anyone who resides in Connecticut can sign up, no matter their income or age.
If you have health coverage, you can ask a pharmacist to check the cost of a prescription drug using your health coverage versus your ArrayRx card. You can then decide whether to use your coverage or the ArrayRx card, based on which option offers the lowest price. It’s important to note that these discounts don’t stack — customers must either use their coverage OR the ArrayRx discount card to fill a prescription, but not both.
To get started, visit ArrayRxcard.com and sign up using your e-mail address and Connecticut home address. The ArrayRx card will then be sent to your email address. You can even add it to your smartphone wallet. This makes it easy to use at a participating pharmacy. To view a list of participating pharmacies, click here. You can also check how much your medicine will cost by visiting the ArrayRx website and using their price lookup tool.
