Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. At Access Health CT (AHCT), we’re committed to helping Connecticut residents access resources to support their mental well-being. In fact, mental health services are covered by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as part of the 10 Essential Health Benefits (EHBs). This means that mental and behavioral health programs and services are covered by all plans offered through AHCT.

While Open Enrollment is a crucial period for selecting health insurance coverage, our support extends far beyond those dates. Here’s how AHCT can assist you in accessing mental health resources and healthcare coverage throughout the year:

Did you know?

Mental and behavioral health programs and services are covered by all plans offered through AHCT.

1. Connect to a Certified Broker from Your Community:

Certified Brokers are available at no cost to help you enroll in health coverage. They can help you use it too. AHCT created the Broker Academy Program to connect more individuals with insurance brokers. There may even be one in your neighborhood. If you’d like to work with a Certified Broker to find the best plan for your needs and budget, you can go here.

2. Community Collaboration:

Find support in your community. AHCT works closely with community organizations to promote mental health awareness and access to resources. By collaborating with our Navigator partners, we can reach more individuals in need and ensure that our efforts are aligned with community needs. These locations are open year-round. Office hours vary by location. Appointments are encouraged; please call the location before you visit.

3. Special Enrollment Opportunities:

See if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Life events can impact our mental health and healthcare coverage needs. That’s why we offer Special Enrollment Periods for individuals experiencing Qualifying Life Events such as loss of coverage, changes in household income, or relocation. These special enrollment opportunities allow individuals to enroll in coverage outside of the annual Open Enrollment period.

4. Resources to Support Your Needs:
